Cute ponytails are often our go-to look when we lack the time or energy to style our hair. It’s what we resort to when we want to extend another day without washing it! This doesn’t imply, however, that ponytails have to appear blah and dull. In fact, we have some wonderfully simple and adorable ponytail ideas for your inspiration!

#1: Adorable Braid Ponytail
Try a lace braid ponytail for a stylish look. It’s tousled, yet polished. The charm of this ponytail lies in tiny details like the face-framing strands pulled out in the front and the hair wrapped around the ponytail holders. These are straightforward ways to elevate your hairstyle and incorporate a little extra flair.
I believe incorporating a simple lace braid is a fantastic method to elevate your standard pony to the next level.
To achieve this look, use a light hold texture spray, a root lifting powder, and a smoothing serum on the ends for that additional shine and radiance we all desire.

#2: Selena Gomez
There is something undeniably glamorous about a sleek ponytail that is parted down the middle! Soft Spray by Paul Mitchell is a wet spray that helps control frizz and flyaways. Wider face shapes with hair that are medium in texture and density will look stunning in this style. Don’t limit yourself to these looks. Mix and match these trendy ponytail ideas! Experiment and create variations that are distinctively yours.

#3: Beautiful Braided Ponytail Updo
Try a beautiful braided ponytail updo if you want to make a lasting impression at your next event! Not only are braided ponytails in vogue, but they’re also much simpler to style than your classic updo.

#4: Beautifully Complex Yet Effortless
This hairstyle gives the impression of complexity while remaining quite easy to achieve. That’s the beauty of it…make everyone believe it took ages to perfect, when in fact, you’re done in just ten minutes! My favorite aspect is how effortlessly it transitions from a casual lunch with friends to an evening out! All you need is a couple of elastic bands, some bobby pins, and a curling iron. Honestly, I believe anyone, regardless of hair type, can pull this off!
Start by loosely curling your locks to add some much-needed texture. Next, take half of your hair, leaving a bit out on the sides, and create a ponytail. Lift the top part up and tuck that ponytail through the opening to achieve a “topsy tail.” Take the remaining hair from the sides and form two braids, pulling them out as much as possible to give them volume, then pin them over to the opposite side beneath the topsy tail. Once everything is secured, gather the remaining hair into a low ponytail, concealing the rubber band by wrapping hair around it and pinning it in place. Finish with a spritz of texture spray on the ponytail and a light mist of hairspray all over.

#5: Knot Your Unique Ponytail
This is styled as a knotted pony. What I appreciate about it is how effortless and lovely it appears. My preferred hairstyles are the most uncomplicated. I also adore that it showcases the color we recently applied.

#6: Effortlessly Wavy Volleyball Ponytail
Elevate your ponytail’s charm by adding a touch of style. Lightly curl the hair, allow it to cool, and gently brush through. The aim is to achieve a soft, voluminous texture rather than defined curls. Secure your hair at a point that matches the middle of the ear to maintain its length. If you want additional volume or length, consider using hair extensions. For a sophisticated volleyball appearance, wrap a piece of hair from the ponytail’s underside around the band. Use a texture spray on the ponytail for added fullness if desired.

#7: Chic Brunette Bubble Ponytail
If you’re a brunette searching for a fashionable hairstyle, consider trying a bubble ponytail! You can easily turn heads and refresh your style by dedicating a few extra moments at home taking your standard party pony to an elevated level. But! Don’t forget to give your bubble pony an extra spritz of hairspray to ensure your look stays intact all night long.

#8: Chic Ponytail Updo
This ponytail is wonderfully undone. It is loose, soft, feminine and effortlessly gorgeous. Oval face shapes with hair that is medium in texture and density will shine in this style. Hold Me Tight by Paul Mitchell provides hairstyles with a long lasting flexible hold.

#9: Braided Bow Pony Cheerleader Hairstyle
The braided bow pony cheerleader hairstyle is an exciting and energetic style that combines braiding techniques with a high ponytail. This vibrant hairstyle merges youthful spirit with festive flair, making it ideal for any sporting occasion. Begin crafting this look by separating the front section of the hair from the back. Next, divide the hair evenly down the center and create two dutch braids, one on each side. Secure all these segments – the two braided portions and the rest of the unbraided hair – together into a ponytail. Finish the hairstyle with a bow of your preference.

#10: Stunning Low Wrapped Ponytail for Lengthy Hair
Did you know that the festive season is just around the corner? It’s nearly that time of year again to get all glammed up. A stunning low-wrapped ponytail for lengthy hair would be perfect for any occasion or style. It can be styled casually with a comfy sweater or more refined in an elegant dress. Elevate your pony by using a thick strand of hair to wrap around the elastic and hide it. You can accessorize with a hairpiece like a decorative comb or a lovely scrunchie to enhance the look from day to day.

#11: Casual Bubble Ash Blonde Ponytail
This wedding season, one of the trending updos is a casual bubble ponytail. They’re not only stylish, but also adaptable and comfortable to wear. Before you finalize your ponytail’s look, be ready to invest a little time embellishing it with loops, swoops, and bubbles to explore until you find the ideal style for your big occasion.

#12: Charming Braided Ponytail
Choose a braided ponytail for its incredible adaptability. You can pair it with a cocktail dress for a business Christmas party, and then enjoy a night of dancing without worrying about your hairstyle! It stays secure throughout any activity.
Consider these questions – “Do I feel good with my hair pulled back?”, “Am I confident wearing a ponytail to this occasion?”, “Am I alright with leaving some face-framing strands out?” If your answers are yes, then definitely give it a try!

#13: Effortlessly Create an Adorable Ponytail
My favorite thing about this look is how quick and simple it is to achieve while giving the impression of having put in more effort! This ponytail strikes the perfect balance between being effortless and having a polished appearance.
This style is ideal for second and third-day hair, or just when you’re short on time in the morning but still want to show off those curls from the previous day! It’s a fantastic way to elevate a standard ponytail. I recommend using a flexible styling paste to tame flyaways and keep your hair manageable, along with a texture spray for the curls if necessary.

#14: Styled Teased Ponytail with a Side Part
This chic ponytail is elegantly teased and parted in the front, with just the perfect amount of hair left out to beautifully frame the face.

#15: Chic & Playful Ponytail
Ponytails styled with a touch of carefree elegance give an effortlessly chic and playful appearance. Oval face shapes along with medium texture and density hair will thrive in this look.
How To Style:
- Apply a volumizing product on dry hair hair.
- With your fingers, blow dry your hair with your head upside down to create volume.
- Gather all your hair into a high ponytail by raking your fingers through the hair and secure with a clear elastic band.
- Set with a flexible hold finishing spray.

#16: Elegant Twisted Ponytail
Transform your everyday ponytail into something extraordinary and use a hair straightener for a smooth finish. Now you’re all set for a fabulous event!

#17: Stylized Dutch Braid
Embrace a contemporary twist on a timeless style. It blends the enchanting essence of swept-back hair with a playful braided accent.
My favorite elements of this braid are the loosely swept strands that come together in the Dutch section!
I highly recommend Bumble and bumble Pret-a-Powder. It is indispensable! It provides just the right amount of grip and texture to ensure everything stays in place.
I believe this is a rather adaptable look for various face shapes and hair types. This client was attending a wedding, pairing the braided pony with an elegant gown. It would be equally fitting for a music festival or a night out.
It can easily be adjusted for those with fine hair by replacing the Dutch braid with a French braid.

#18: Relaxed Tousled Ponytail
I would say the overall appearance is a playful, laid-back, effortless ponytail! You can easily achieve this style. The key is the softness of the finish; it’s best if the hair is washed the day before or you can use a matt-texture spray on the day of styling.
This look is perfect for straight or wavy hair. To add some waves and create movement, gently back brush the hair at the roots. This technique will help your hair maintain volume and movement without falling flat. Next, secure the ponytail, take a small section of hair to wrap around, straighten this section, and apply a light layer of gel as you wrap the hair around the elastic. Use enough gel so that it adheres to itself, eliminating the need for pins. Complete the style by adding hairspray once you’re satisfied with the overall appearance.

#19: Glamorous Twist
I would describe this look as a bohemian ponytail with a touch of glamour! My favorite thing about this look is how versatile it is. You can absolutely wear this style to a wedding or a dinner. I think it’s unique and very enjoyable!
If a client was considering this look, I would tell them it’s suited for someone with a lot of hair that is definitely on the longer side. It is also for the girl who wants to make a bold fashion statement!

#20: Smooth Low Ponytail with Soft Waves
This is a smooth ponytail that is tied sleek with minimal texture, yet left loose and softly waved at the ends.
How To Style:
- Apply a volumizing product on dry waved hair.
- With your fingers, blow dry your hair with your head upside down to create volume.
- Massage a volumizing powder into the hair to create texture and height.

#22: Effortless & Natural
A ponytail look is incredibly easy and allows you to appear polished in just a few minutes! No precise partings or instructions were necessary. You want this to look effortless and natural! This style works well for any hair type, personality, and lifestyle. You can accessorize with a cute hair piece like I did or keep it simple. Either way, the result is stunning. From start to finish, this look took me about five minutes!
This is a very straightforward style that doesn’t require much time or product. To prepare for this style, I created some fast, loose waves with the Babyliss Pro 1 1/4-inch curling iron. I skipped sectioning before curling. To set the curls, I applied a light hold hairspray and a spray dry shampoo for enhanced texture. From there, I loosely gathered the hair at the nape of the neck and secured it with a hair tie. To complete the look, I pulled some pieces out near the face to frame her features and used my fingers to lift a few strands in the back for added texture and volume.

#23: Bubble Ponytail with a Hollywood Twist
The bubble ponytail inspired by Hollywood exudes sleekness while offering a touch of volume. A few techniques to help achieve this hairstyle include teasing your hair at the crown for added height. Utilize a boar hair dressing brush to ensure the smoothness of your hair as you secure it back. Consider using various sprays, such as heat protectant, silkening, and holding products.

#24: Elegantly Styled Low Ponytail with Braids
A beautifully crafted low ponytail with braids is a versatile hairstyle suitable for any occasion. I enjoy blending elegant event styling with casual ponytail looks. The interplay between an intricate braid and a laid-back pony can create a stunning aesthetic. To achieve this style efficiently, it’s best to section your hair from front to back. Focus on braiding your hair first, then gently pulling it apart and securing your ponytail last. This approach will ensure the most effective results.

#25: Wrapped Ponytail
Revamp your standard ponytail style by twisting some strands of hair around your scrunchie for a chic, tousled effect.

#26: Chic Power Pony
What I adore about this contemporary ponytail is that it’s a refreshing take compared to the classic french or dutch braid.
This hairstyle offers a simple, quick option for those with long hair wanting to elevate their regular ponytail.
Whether you prefer it sleek and tidy for the office or relaxed and tousled for a night out or special event, this style is incredibly versatile. My go-to products are KMS add volume texture creme to blow dry with, followed by KMS playable texture to finish and modify the look.

#27: Chic Messy Ponytail with Blonde Balayage
A tousled, textured blonde ponytail is the perfect choice for a boho vibe. The beachy teased curls, combined with playful twists, will provide just the right amount of volume and elevate your ponytail to a more sophisticated style. This look is versatile enough for any occasion and will complement any outfit you select.

#28: Defined Ponytail with Lift
This ponytail for prom is styled snugly on the sides and features enticing volume on top.
How To Style:
- Apply a root lifter on the roots of dry hair on top of the head.
- Blow dry the hair with hair upside down until the product has dried.
- Pull all the hair into a tight ponytail except for the hair on top of the head.
- Secure it with an elastic band.
- Tease the hair on top of the head with a comb.
- Set the teasing with a firm hold spray.
- Gather all the hair into one ponytail, and secure with an elastic band.
- Set the hairstyle with a flexible hold spray.
Recommended Products:
Extra-Body Finishing Spray is a firm hold spray that is great for holding up teasing.

Style your hair with an adorable braided ponytail for a touch of charm! Elevate your everyday appearance by simply incorporating a braid into your ponytail.

#30: Chic Boho Ponytail
This captivating boho chic low ponytail exudes a relaxed yet elegant vibe. My favorite aspect of it is its effortless beauty and gentle appearance.

#31: Charming Double Ponytail
Festival vibes! It’s easygoing and playful. This look is perfect for outdoor events while staying stylish.
Texture spray will add volume to the twists. Wrapping a small section of hair around the elastic bands will enhance the look, making it appear polished and sophisticated.

#32: Rich Auburn Mermaid Braid
This beautiful rich auburn mermaid braid ponytail is a simple style that elegantly showcases a new color. The deep, rich auburn tone adds dimension, making the style genuinely eye-catching. This look is quite easy to create if your hair is long and of one length. For styling, start with a two-strand type of braid. Cross one side over and pin it. Repeat this with the other side. Continue this pattern until you have moved beyond the scalp. Then keep going until you are ready to fasten the style. To finish the look, spray ‘DesignMe Puff Me’ on the braid and gently pull it out.

#33: Topsy Tail Curls
Curls are a simple enhancement for your everyday long ponytail. They’re alluring, add volume and definition, and keep you feeling beautiful all day!

#34: Elegant Extended Blonde Ponytail
Extended blonde ponytails exude elegance and sophistication. Ponytails rank among the most underrated hairstyles. If your hair is on the shorter side or you desire a dramatically long look, consider using extensions. Wrap a weft of hair around your ponytail, securing it with bobby pins, and then wrap a section of your hair around the base to conceal the seams. This technique will provide you with the desired length. Enhance your look with a shine serum like Eufora Pure Polish for extra gloss and smoothness.

#35: Elegant Wrapped Pony
Adding a wrap to a ponytail is a fantastic way to elevate your look, particularly if you’re not confident in braiding. Oval face shapes with hair that is medium in texture and density will look stunning in this style.

#36: Chic High Ponytail
A chic high ponytail pairs perfectly with any look! It can be elevated or kept casual depending on your outfit choice or makeup style. Oval face shapes with hair that is medium in texture and density will look stunning in this style.
How To Style:
- With your head upside down, gather hair with your hands into a high ponytail.
- Smooth the hair into your hands using a boar bristle dressing brush.
- Secure the ponytail using a clear elastic band.
- Take half-inch of hair from the ponytail, wrap it around its base, and secure with a bobby pin.
- Set the style with a flexible hold spray.

#37: Chic Casual Ponytail
I would describe this look as polished, sophisticated, and effortless. My favorite aspect of this look is that it can be styled both formally and casually. It will elevate any outfit with minimal effort! This is a versatile style, but as a client seeking this look, having some length is essential. I only used two products to achieve this style. I used a strong hairspray and some of L’Oréal’s Super Dust, which is fantastic for adding volume and firmness to the hair.

#38: Elegant Chignon Ponytail
This hairstyle is both simple and stylish.
This look would be fantastic for straight long hair of any hue. It would be perfect for those who wish to achieve maximum impact with minimal effort. I think the most captivating aspect of this twisted ponytail is that without a ribbon it can be an everyday hairstyle, but this small accessory adds a touch of elegance to it. As for styling products, only hairspray and sparkler can be used for hold, but I enjoy incorporating some Control Freak serum by TIGI to eliminate frizz.

#39: Effortless Blonde Ponytail
This refined and messy ponytail is timeless. It’s incredibly simple while remaining stylish and elegant. Oval face shapes with hair that has a medium texture and density will look wonderful in this hairstyle.

#40: Softball Ponytail with Bubble and Dutch Braids
A simple, adorable way to style your hair for the upcoming softball game is by using a double Dutch braid. You can then blend this into a bubble braid. First, section your hair horizontally where you want the braids to be. Then, style these sections into Dutch braids. Finally, tie the bottom half of your hair into the top half and secure it into a ponytail. Secure the ponytail with several tie holders, then fluff it out to create mini bubbles.
